(Micro Needling)
It’s normal for the skin to lose collagen via age or injury so by having Collagen Induction Therapy, which is a minimally invasive treatment, your skin concerns can be alleviated by boosting collagen production. Simply put, micro-needling is the insertion of very fine needles into the skin for rejuvenation. It is used to treat and improve conditions such as acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, reduced skin elasticity, uneven skin texture, large pore size, age/sun spots, and pigment issues.
Micro-needling works by encouraging your skin to increase blood flow, and create more elastin and collagen. The pinpricks from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin , which then responds by making new collagen-rich tissue. This new skin tissue is, in turn, more even in tone and texture.
Being a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is minimal. Most people require very little downtime, if any at all. You may notice skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in your skin. You can go back to work after the procedure if you’re comfortable. Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun.
After micro-needling, your skin works fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue. You should see results within a couple of weeks, although your skin will feel very smooth immediately after treatment, especially if accompanied with Dermaplaning (see my offers page for the package). To maximise the results of your treatment, and to see the optimum results, it is recommended that you have three treatments over a six month period at twelve week intervals.
